Chief People Officer

Carole King joined Emerus as Senior Vice President, People Experience, effective Nov. 8, 2021.

King will lead the Emerus People Experience team to develop scalable processes in line with the company’s growth strategy, as well as build HR initiatives to best support the organization’s strategic vision. Among her diverse areas of expertise are strategic HR planning, leadership and HR operations.

King has more than 25 years of progressive HR experience in healthcare and financial services, most recently at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, where she was Director of Human Resources. Prior to Texas Children’s, she lived in Atlanta, where she spent 6 years with Shepherd Center, a world-renowned spinal cord and acquired brain injury rehabilitation hospital. There, she transformed HR processes into a more effective and advanced resource to foster business growth and the employee experience.

King earned her bachelor’s degree in behavioral management from Iowa State University and her master’s degree in organizational behavior from Georgia State University.
